[RESOLVED] Crystal Reports 9 and 11 co-exists?
I have crystal reports 9 installed on the server - there are a couple of reports running on it.
Now we have some new reports which have been made in CR 11. Just putting these new .rpt files along with the .dll files which have been referenced in ASP.NET project dont work.
I figured that I would need to install:
http://support.businessobjects.com/c...nstall.zip.asp
to run CR XI on the server.
Question: If I run this server installer on my server so as to enable CR XI, will it hamper my existing CR 9.0 reports? In other words does CR 9.0 and CR XI exists on the same server?

Re: Crystal Reports 9 and 11 co-exists?
I have never had any luck running CR development platforms (i.e. 9 and 11) on the same computer. I have managed to have version 8.5, 9 and 11 runtime versions installed on a computer and have all the reports run.
Sometimes the Programmer
Sometimes the DBA

Thanks for the reply. I have confirmed from Business Objects that existing CR 9.0 reports will run even after installing the runtime for CR XI.

I have crystal reports 8.5 installed and reports running from it. I need to install crystal reports XI on same machine so to have both versions running parallelly as part of phased migration. Kindly let me know the steps for installing & running both the versions on same machine.

Re: [RESOLVED] Crystal Reports 9 and 11 co-exists?
I have CR 8.5, CR 10 and CR 12 installed on same pc w/windows xp
Also have VB6 and VB.Net 2005
All work ok
The only thing to considerate is when you double click over a rpt file is that windows try to open with CR 12, then instead of double click I use click right button and Open With and select the right CR version
There're no special steps when install, all is normal way
If You develop using VB6 You'll have all the references of every CR version clearly separated
