Hello Mark. You really do have something against the Obamas don't you?
What sort of reaction are you expecting when you post a thread like this?

Re: Uh oh!
I think Thomas.Fredrickson is expressing dismay at Mrs. Obama ending a sentence in a preposition as quoted here:
But we also know that there are new faces coming into this work and we want to welcome you and thank you for the hard work that you're going to put in.
However, ending a sentence in a preposition being a 'grammatical sin' is actually an urban legend propagated by teachers who themselves have succumbed to this fallacy. There is nothing wrong with ending a sentence in a preposition and is perfectly acceptable.

I got a question for penagate and mendhak, do you guys investigate all posters on this forum or only those who have differing political beliefs than yourself?
I know a large majority of the members here lean left, some even lean so left they are almost upside down :-), but is this the case or not?

No, just most of the outspoken ones lean left, and some will deny they have any bias at all. It has been my experience (outside of VBF of course) that most developers/programmers tend to lean right politically.
And thanks to a nasty old racing injury I lean to the right no matter what.

All posters investigated.
Let me also make something clear - your attempt to use a rhetorical question in order to demonstrate your perception of being discriminated against is, to use a common parlance, a 'fail'. You are being pointed out here because of the nature of your threads which are designed or entitled to gain maximum attention or controversy. Remember, penagate and I are moderators, it is our task to do this.

Because I dared to point out that B. Hussian Obama's wife is choosing to conduct a "Listening Tour"!! Hmmm that sound very familiar to another famous First Lady what was her name again. . .
So it seems that if you don't "tote the party line" as it were, then you are
"Pointed out", Right? Hmmm, seems like the old my way or the highway adage huh?

But if my posts had a "left leaning agenda" that would be ok, right? this is the World Events Forum, correct??

It is the stated policy on the vast majority of forums (including this one) for moderators to ensure that the members adhere to the rules/guidelines/etc - which as you should be well aware, is the entire point of having moderators.
There are occasions when doing that requires some degree of investigation, and that is more likely to happen for members who have decided to be "special" (eg: act in a confrontational manner).

considering the right wing views expressed by "thomas.fredrickson" I am surprised he cares at all if those who "govern" this forum are looking into "suspicious" activity. Isn't that what republicans do best? At least we haven't tapped your keyboard yet

Re: Uh oh!
Is it just me our does any of this really matter. This is a programming forum, I'm well aware that there is a Chit-Chat and a World Event's forum. These are, at least in my view, to enhance the members experience. I don't really see the point in posting drivel be it left or right wing for the sake of gaining attention. I'm still wondering why you have even bothered to post in this section at all? Is the idea of this and the chit chat section just to blow of steam while you help members rather than coming here solely to post your left/right views?

Hmmm, I guess only one point of view is welcome here huh Matt: http://www.vbforums.com/search.php?searchid=1945810, now I think I understand. If you political views aren't aligned with the moderators then you are attacked, where is the Fairness Doctrine on VB Forums???

Hey, you have your way of blowing off steam, and others have there ways. Now, when did attempting to engage in lively discussion become a crime here on good old VBF??? So if I bring up a topical news item, I am immediately branded a person attempting to "gain attention", while others in our merry crew can post similiar items: ITEM1 and ITEM2 and everyone just laughs and jokes because of the slant of the postings.
That is the problem with a certain group of people they love to read from their "Talking points" but when you try to engage them in a discussion they start name calling. Well your guy is in charge now lets see how he fairs.
God Help the USA!! oops, I mentioned religion hey is that a taboo subject as well???

Re: Uh oh!
fairness doctrine?
Last I checked no one deleted your post, and no one banned you did they? No one told you that you CAN'T post what you are posting did they?
What are you talking about? Have your privileges (note I didn't say rights) on here been violated? I don't think so. Just because you don't like what people respond with when you post what you post, doesn't mean in any way that you have been treated any differently than any other member...
You are the one hiding behind alternate user names to post political links.... You are the one who obviously have things to hide.

Re: Uh oh!
You know none of us have actually suggested that your political views are not tolerated but merely the way in which you present them. I have my own political views, but it doesn't bother me if someone disagrees with me as long as the discussion or debate is healthy and productive in some way. By contrast the problem with the discussions you initiate is that they are polarised from the outset and so the the debate is always negative.
And why do you post under these aliases? Don't you believe what you're saying yourself?

Now it's become apparent that you haven't been paying attention to the posts.... this has been the funniest one yet. Life's too serious to be taken serious... lighten up a little... and enjoy life... If necessary install Humor '09... I upgraded mine last week... runs much much smoother than Humor '08 did.

If tagged "special" do we earn a related badge? Maybe a little protective helmet near our avatar?
