I'm not sure! At the moment I am trying out the Beta of WS 2008:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserv...s/default.aspx

    Edit:

There are three files for download! However, they only give you the download link to the files not a description of what each file is.

The newer the better... Go with Win Server 2008 and IIS7 if you have a choice. Your hardware also plays equally important part in the equation. So if you get a fairly fast system, either IIS6 or IIS7 will be fine.

I'm just about to install the beta on a virtual machine. I will let you know how it turns out and how good the software is.

IIS 7 is very powerful and stable, and has easy administration as compared to IIS 6.

    I don't like IIS 6 and up.

IIS 5 had all the properties of a website grouped on 1 form with a bunch of tabs.

IIS 6 and up have all those different items.
    I code C#....

That's because it's getting more powerful. More aspects of it have become more configurable. In IIS 7, you can now host TCP web services (binary) via HTTP. There's a web administration interface as well. App pools get created for you. You can share metabase configuration easily across web server farms. Granted, new interface, but it takes a little time and then it's easier to use.
