Windows Server 2003 R2 on VMWare Virtual Machine
Have any of you guys encountered problems with timings on a VMWare Virtual Machine that runs on a Quad Core cpu box?

I have never used WS2003 before! I downloaded the Beta of WS2008 just to see what WS actually does:

Well it's not WS2003 that's the problem, it's VMWare.

Scheduled tasks using the java api does not run on a server hosted on VMware virtual machine running on quad core cpus.
Not sure if this is a java problem or a VMWare problem
But the scheduled tasks were created using the java api.

I mean it runs once (first time) but not after wards.
i've ran out of ideas. the same application runs fine on a dedicated WS2003 server.

When you say it doesnt run, what exactly happens? Anything logged in the Event Log or in the Windows Scheduler Log? (at least I assume you are talking about standard windows scheduled tasks but you havent really given a lot of info to go on...)
What exactly do these scheduled tasks do?
