Online Freelance questions
Hello,
Two questions
1# What are the best freelance websites?
2# I have been looking at project at GetAFreelancer.com and some of them are a lot of work and/or lots of money involved. What happens if I spend days/weeks working on something and the buyer decides he does not want it? Or after I send him the code he "disputes it"... Whats to stop him from saying it sucks, and not paying (even if it was good and he secretly used it)?

2.
Guess what! You then get to keep any unfinished work you did for the client. You can refuse to give the client the code until he pays the amount agreed upon. If that fails you can take the client to court.

Re: Online Freelance questions
if the place is reputable, the money goes into escrow anyways.... if there's a dispute in the end, it will go to arbitration...

I don't think you are supposed to send the code without payment first. Just send the client a demo application that meets his criteria then send the code when he pays.

Yes, you are correct! It would be really stupid for a programmer (for example) to give the client the code without any payment or signed documentation. The client could then sell the program as his/her own work and the original programmer wouldn't be able to prove otherwise.
