[Access 2003] Have MS updated something?

Hiya,

I have some code (which I haven't changed) that takes a field in a recordset, changes it and puts the result into another field in the same recordset.

Previously, for the 400k records this didn't balloon the mdb much, from 80mb to 100mb.

However yesterday I ran this and the mdb ballooned to 1.3Gb.


Does anyone know if MS tweaked something?
I also noticed that there is a new toolbar for Cisco WebEx... Maybe something on this has had an adverse affect?

Any pointers would be gratefully accepted (as long as they help )

try this

Create a new table (don't copy and paste old one ) transfer the records into it amd now try it....

Thanks - will try that.

I ran it this morning, ballooned to 1.7gb....

but its done so might not need to run again... hopefully. at least until the end of the month
