That's obviously fake. They haven't asked for your bank account details.

    Re: UK National Lottery

I received a number of emails like that. At some point they'll ask you to send them a payment of hundreds of dollars so that they can special courier a package to you. If they ask you for money before you receive your prize money then you can know for certain it's bogus. There are legitimate online lotteries where you can win such sums of money but if you do they won't ask any money from you before you receive your winnings. The odds of winning a sum like the above would be quite slim of course.

Unless I have specifically asked to be entered into a prize draw, it is certainly bogus.

    TEL: +44-70 45 74 72 61.

He says, "I did not forget your past efforts in trying to help me in the
transfer of these fund." That's very strange because I did forget those efforts. I don't seem to remember any such efforts. Now how could that be.

Lots of scammers now are taking advantage of kind hearted people to embezzle money.

I don't find it strange that his female secretary is called Mr. Frank Williams.

I missed that inconsistency in the email that you pointed out but I used it in an email reply that I sent just for fun.

    Dear Mr. ScamArtist

If you're going to send scam emails to try to embezzle money, you should at least have your emails make more sense. You say in your email to me that your secretary's name is Mr. Frank Williams and then you say to ask "her" to send me the total sum of $ 500,000. I wonder what the fee is that I'm supposed to send you before you send me my $ 500,000.

If I'm a dear friend why is it that I've never heard of you before? Does your mother know you're running scams?

    Not buying it.

The subject for the email I was sent was "Dear Friend".

Perhaps this guy doesn't get to the office a lot... seems like he doesn't really know who or what his secretary is...

I was noticing that myself. I got an email not delivered message on the reply that I sent. I'm guessing that after these scammers send out their emails they probably close the email account down that they used to send them in less than 24 hours.
