The Pre already has the entire page cached. Not to mention that the Pre has multi-touch and the accelerometer works better than the iPhones as when it rotates, it does it immediately even on large web pages (I've never seen a phone do that).

I did too... until I saw this. I think I've become an instant fan[-boy] of the Palm Pre when it was announced. It just seems so much better than anything else out there. Too bad it probably won't come out for almost 6 more months .

    Re: The Palm Pre

Fair enough I suppose. I just like the idea that even I can write programs for it, and not just simple basic programs like "Oh hai wurlz lol <insert lolcat here on the G1>", but when I get more experienced then I'll be able to write replacement home screens and other applications, etc.

Following on from what you say, despite what people say, I really don't care about the interface as long as I can get to the application, no matter how long winded it is. Since I'll still be stuck on my Pay-As-You-Go sim that I've had since the stone age, I'll probably not use the internet that frequently since it'll cost me. Accelerometers are nothing but a lame overly-expensive gimmick whose features could be replaced by the simple rotate command in an app, and the multi-touch screen feature is nice, but I do want to be able to buy the phone, so I'm not too fussed about multi-touch screens, unless the phone is cheap; then I'm very suspicious about the phone.

Yes, but I have mine right now.

Also (and you can check with mendhaktard if you like), there is only one thing worse than an Apple product and that is a Palm product.

The only thing worse than an Apple product is its user.

I have to disagree with you here. It's like the scroll wheel on a mouse. I thought is was just a lazy feature....until you use it and realize how much time you waste clicking the little scroll arrows.

The rotate on my LG Dare works great - as fast as I can turn it, it rotates. It's very nice to go from a T9 (word guesser) in portrait mode to a full QWERTY layout in landscape.

Edit: The Dare also runs apps in the background. I can listen to music on it while I surf the web.
