    Decaf Coffee?

    Almost every time I hear an American mention coffee, its not without first saying "decaf".
    I cant understand why anyone would drink decaf coffee... aka hot black water.
    I'd like to know how many people here actually drinks that stuff.. not only americans of course.
    Poll-time!!

    I'm voting for no, as you might've guessed. I dont think I've even seen decaf coffee here in Sweden.

    Re: Decaf Coffee?

    Some people just have to watch their caffeine intake levels... cannot tolerate it or for medical reasons, I suppose.

    I drink decaf sometimes. The caffeine levels are much less... so depending on how many cups of joe I've already had, I might switch to decaf.

    Some decaf tastes just like the regular coffee - depends on what brand!

    I love coffee though. What's your favorite?

    Oh I love coffee too. I'm not sure what I prefer, I dont make much coffee at home, I drink most of it at university or at "home" (aka my fathers place, yes i still refer to it as home even though ive moved out ), where I dont really bother to find out what brand it is

    haha I hear that.

    You are from Sweden, eh? So you wouldn't know my favorite type, unless they are global: Dunkin Donuts.
    I'm hooked on that coffee.

    Get yourself one of those single cup brews: they are awesome. Can try as many different types of coffees as you want without making a whole pot!

    I always mix up all the different coffee types...espresso, latte etc etc...so today I went wild and ordered an espresso in a café. Tiniest cup of coffee I've ever seen! What a rip off!

    haha... I hope you slow sipped the espresso. It's nothing but a shot of coffee.

    Have to be in the mood for it. I remember ordering my first one... by accident too - had no idea what was going on. Thought it was a joke. :-)

    Drinking decaf coffee is like using an Apple product - it's all style and hype on the outside, but empty and pointless on the inside.

    I don't care how many cups I've had... I'll drink another if I feel like it! Just don't give me that instant crap. It has to be REAL coffee.

    Re: Decaf Coffee?

    I drink decaf at work. Then I go to the bar and get a non-alcoholic beer and follow that up with unsalted popcorn. For dinner I like to have tofu burgers or Jumbo Shrimp. Drive home on the parkway and park in my driveway! My whole life is an oxy-moron.

    Re: Decaf Coffee?

    I ate about a pound (or two) of chocolate covered coffee beans during a class on statistics a couple years back. Caffeine doesn't do squat to me, but that much in one shot did leave me feeling vaguely stoned. The major result came later, though, when I found out how much of a coffee bean doesn't get digested....but that's another story.

    Coffee is so disgusting tasting. I refuse to believe that anyone actually drinks it because they think it tastes good; they drink it so they can get buzzed on caffeine. Anyone who drinks decaf is therefore mentally ill.

    I think exactly the same of jaegermeister and gin. Still people keep telling me they like it. Now I dont know who to believe anymore.

    I also used to think so about whiskey, until I learned to drink it myself.

    The only thing that makes less sense of Decaf-Coffee is Cafeene-free, Diet Mt. Dew.... What the heck? That totally flies in the logic of everything Mt.Dew stands for.

    Decaf == Solaris
    Regular == Linux

    You expect Decaf to taste like Regular but there's something missing and you end up missing your deadlines.
