    What's cooking?

Tonight it shall be, Filipino-style Picadillo with baked beans!

Sounds better than Texas style Armadillo.

    Re: What's cooking?

Brussel sprouts (petite) sauteed in extra virgin olive oil over medium-low heat
(covered, and individually rotated 180 degrees after 10 minutes for another
10 minutes until extreme carmelization sets in), then sliced in half and served
in a bowl over three patties of butter.

Tonight's my climbing night so I'll be grabbing some food in the bar afterwords. It usually consists of a chicken, cheese and bacon burger with chips but I've been known to be tempted by a Thai Green Curry.

    Re: What's cooking?

Rice mixed with fried (chopped up) corned beef & diced onions. Let the onions fry in the fat of the corned beef on a low heat. Do not add more fat, butter etc. Served with boiled mixed vegetables (carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, peas, swede etc).

Tip: Put 2 teaspoons of sugar in the water in which you boil the veg, to prevent the veg's natural sugars from leeching out. Even the most hardened veg haters (kids) turn when you do this.

It's either that or the works canteen.

Mmm. Nothing like the wobbly texture of undercooked fat to really set up an evening at the cinema.
