difficult to register
Let me say first that this looks like a great forum and I think it will be very useful.
I did have a little trouble difficulty registering because I could not answer the spam verification question.
NoSpam! verification question At the very top of this page, there is a toolbar containing several links. The first reads "IT", the second reads "Developer", what does the third one say?
The problem it seems is that this toolbar is blocked by a number of different utilities. My first idea was to search the forum for someone with similar problems which of course I could not do because the answer to this question is also required for a forum search.
My second attempt was to check out the faq to see if I was missing something.
My third attempt was a google search which landed me this post by someone having a similar problem.

In his case it was kaspersky AV blocking it, I have not determined what is blocking it for me yet.
My suggestion: Either change this question to something not dependent on a toolbar that is apparently sometimes blocked, or maybe add something in your FAQ about this toolbar sometimes being blocked.
Thanks

Re: difficult to register
As a side note, the cost of this active forum are covered by ad revenue, so blocking ads prevents the site from covering its costs.

Re: difficult to register
Thanks for the welcome
It is also important to note that many people myself included have not installed an ad-blocker per say but it comes bundled with your AV or Firewall/Protection suite. I am actually still in the process of determining how to unblock it
That is why this was kind of problematic for me, because I was not even aware I was blocking anything.
Thanks again

Re: difficult to register
Thanks. I actually made a note for our Forum Manager to look into this and to include comments in the registration process if possible to make it easier for others in the future. He is out for the holidays, but will most likely see this thread when he returns next week.

Re: difficult to register
Still hard to get in. Consider Captcha/AudioCaptcha. Annoying sometimes, but at least you can usually get in within a try or two.

Re: difficult to register
CAPTCHA is utterly useless, I'm not sure about the audio version. I've not encountered it yet.

Re: difficult to register
I'd imagine AudioCaptcha is only useful if the user has the capability of hearing it... which, people like me wouldn't. It's interesting though. Don't think I've come across it.

Personally, I have used the following:
http://recaptcha.net/
And it has been very good. It has a number of accessibility options, including an audio option.
