Virus problem
I have a McAfee antivirus
Whenever I start my PC it detects a autorun.inf and it cannot be cleaned, quarantined nor deleted.
It says that it may be rightprotected or readonly
It's path is C:
but i cannot find a autorun.inf file there. I even open the task manager and see if autorun is in the process but I found none.
How can I clean or delete it

Re: Virus problem
You probably have a trojan infecting your pc! Try downloading and installing anti-root kit software. I use
Anti-Root kit:
http://free.avg.com/download-avg-ant...s-free-edition
However, there are others that an probably better.
You could download the avg virus scanner and see if that removes the file.

Re: Virus problem
Ah!!! it is a simple trojan....
right click on the start button, click on explore and start the explorer...
Click on the tools menu => Folder options
Select the tab "View"
Scroll down to "Hidden files and folder"
under that option click on the "show hidden files and folders option"
click apply
go to c:
you will now see that autorun.inf file.
open with notepad
you will see it starting a file (for example xyz.cmd) or making few registry entries...
locate the file xyz.cmd and delete it.
check the registry entries that it has made
finally delete the autorun.inf
simple...
A good exercise for the Heart is to bend down and help another up...
Please Mark your Thread " Resolved", if the query is solved

I would also apply the "show hidden files and folders" option to ALL folders on your machine, not just the one with the problem.
Cool tip sid!
