Resolved [RESOLVED] Animated Pictures as Avatars

    Hi,

This is a continuation of this thread where I had asked about animated avatars and Brad replied that it could be set only after 2048 posts.

Now I have completed 2048 posts. I could also upload the animated gif image to set as my avatar pic. But the image does not animate. It is still.

Is there some restriction as to what type of animated image can be set, its size, dimensions etc.?

My image is an animated gif file. The only other restrictions are file size, width, and height. If you are too big on any of those, the system should give you an error when you try to upload. If you continue to have trouble, then uplaod your image on a post in this thread and I'll see what I can do when time allows.

That is too large (200px by 200 px, 50.71 kB), you need to reduce it to the size shown on the upload page:
Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 64 by 64 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).

OK.. I compressed this file. Now it is 64x64 pixel and 5.91KB in size.
    But I can't upload.

I get the message - "Upload of file failed."

    EDIT:
Ohh.. Ok.. Even though I got that failed message, I observe that the avatar image has been set.

    Thanks.

It looks like you are well on your way to being animated! (so to speak)

Your image is showing now, so I'll assume all is good.
