example source wanted: load tiles, draw to screen, scrollable

Hi,

I was looking for an example source code, or source codes, that could show me the following.

1. Load some images (jpg format) into memory
2. Draw them to the screen
3. Allow me to scroll around the screen

preferably smooth scrolling, these images are 200x200, but i don't want jumps that large

I've seen some "map editor" examples on planetsourcecode, but I can't really differetiate the good from the bad. If anyone knows of a good one, please let me know.

I have a nice scrolling demo on my site, it's not loading JPGs but that's not a big difference...
