Report error : The page size was not large ...
Hi Guys
I have developed a small application that uses the crviewer activeX to display reports.
I have deployed my applictaion on two production PCs that have been built from the same image. On one PC ALL the reports are formatted correctly and have no errors. On the second PC I get and error on one report
"The page size is not large enough to format the contents of an object in the report"
There is nothing of note in either the footers or headers. The report does contain a group but again nothing large in the group footer or header. On the detail line there is a large formula field that formats a large string into several lines.
On the same PC I also have another issue with a different report (may be part of the same issue). The report displays a summary table (group footers), two columns in the center of the page. On the problem PC the table is skewed to the right and almost off the page.
Using CR7, crviewer.dll 2.2.4.36, crystl32.ocx 6.1.0.609
Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance

Re: Report error : The page size was not large ...
Hi Guys
After further investigation it may be an issue with the default margin settings.
Running the exact same report on both PCs gives me a left margin of 240 on the pc that works and 3680 on the one that doesn't.
So a futher question to my problem above is where are the default margins picked up from?
Thanks in advance

I don't have CR7.0, in CR8.5 the menu to change the margins is File->Page Setup.
I believe, by default, the margins are established at runtime based on the selected printer. A printer with a default left margin of 3680, which is what 2.5 inches, does seem execessive. Maybe the problem is with the actual Printer setup not the CR Report.

Hi Bruce.
Good call on the printer defaults.
I checked for the default printer and for some reason the user had a barcode printer as default. Changed this to the correct "normal" printer and both reports working.
Thanks
