    Resolved [RESOLVED] Pc strange freezing

    Hi guys...

    I got this strange problem...

My mouse just freezes clicks, my task bar freezes and i can use the TAB key.

To unfreeze i have to press the WINDOWS button or in the worst case press CTRL+ALT+DEL and click anything in the Task Manager windows to unfreeze things....

I was told fo reinstall windows...i did, 3 times...and still the same thing happends...

I changed mouse, changes USB port, changed to ps/2...still it does the same problem...

Well sometimes when that happends i get like a tiny square just above the pointer which show up it i keep the pointer still....

    Any idea?
    Thanks for helping me out.

What kind of a PC do you have?

    How old is it?

How long has this been happening?

Did you install anything new just before it started happening?

    Re: Pc strange freezing

This is a very common problem with CursorFx. You don't need to press Ctrl-Alt-Del. Simply Unhook the mouse and attach it again... Try it out ...

Did you do a fresh install after formatting the disk or just over the existing windows installation?

    Re: Pc strange freezing

Restart your computer and go to BIOS.
You will find an option to load fail safe defaults (this might be named differently but with similar names in different BIOS makes).
After loading those settings, see if the problem is gone.

Also, what happens if you boot Windows in safe mode. Does the problem occur in safe mode also?

Glad to know that this solved your problem.

But you should understand that when you load fail safe defaults, your PC is not giving you its best performance.

In case, loading the fail safe defaults solved your problems, you can try keeping those settings for a few days to confirm that the problem is really solved with this.
Then pick up the settings one by one and start experimenting to know which of those settings is causing the problem. Change the settings one by one; maybe one or two settings per day. So after you have identified which one is causing problems, you can be cautious to stumble upon it in the future, and enable the other settings to their maximum performance.

    Ummm...
    Just a thought..
Could this be a virus activity?
Have you tried scanning your PC for malware (viruses. adware, Trojans etc.).

if it's a usb mouse, try it in a different slot. Also, it's possibly a video issue since you see this little square. You could try installing a different version of your video driver, or even turning down graphics acceleration. One notch from full i believe gives you "software mouse"

try rolling back video driver to a previous one. You don't happen to have an ATI video card do you? It can lock up when the card errors, then it auto-resets the driver. In the mean time your system is frozen.
