roujim, welcome to VB Forums.
You will find a sample calculator in your VB folders (HexCalc.vbp) or something like that. It should give you some ideas of how to start. You will also find numerous examples if you search the forum. Please forgive any member that was rude to you. Programmers are high strung people with massive egos and I'm not the exception.

This may be true, but the people here have a right, in my opinion, to get aggravated with newbies that pop in and say stuff like "I need code to do X" or some such. It shows no effort on their own part. They have gone as far as searching google for "VB help", saw this forum and thought "oh yay, a bunch of people that actually have will and knowledge that I can take advantage of!"
