They ignore ALL the email I send them. I''m not joking. I've not received a single response from them (other than the occasional auto response) in 6 months.
I've sent them Support requests from my control panel, so I know they are receiving the requests.
I've had enough. I want to move my domains elsewhere. But, since they will not respond to me, I can't get the codes required to move them.
I specifically sent email demanding the codes. They don't care. I've called their phone numbers on their website. No response.
My new ISP says there is nothing they can do without these codes and there is no way to force the M6.net people to give them up.
Isn't there a supervisory group that watches over internet ISPs to prevent holding domains hostage, and other unethical behavior?
I really want my domains back.
What do I have to do?
And can you recommend sites where I can let the most people know to steer far clear of these pirates?
This is the problem with buying domains from a host... they have more control over your websites and it's usually a pain to get it released. You've learned your lesson now - always buy domains from a domain reseller and then point it to your host so that you can keep moving.
First, go over every page in your control panel to see if there's an admin interface or something similar that allows you to get the domain codes that you need for releasing the domain.
As for regulators, they do exist but I don't think they have much authority. You'll need to find out if M6.net is part of one of these regulators.
I went over the Control Panel. I will go over it again, as I thought access to the codes should be there.
I did learn my lesson, as you said, but have no idea how to do what you said to do, or how it differs from what I already did.
For me and the other uninitiated, can you explain this further?
The police, huh? I suspect they'll roll their collective eyes as if I just reported the Loch Ness monster in my bathtub.
Well you don't have any other option but to go to the cops, IMEO. You have no way of communicating with them and they don't respond to you at all. The police could at least file a report for you and you could ask them what steps you can take. It isn't doing you any harm to ask them.
As for the links to those organizations, have a look to see (on their sites) if M6.net is a member of any of those organizations because they too could serve as another means of 'communication'.
Further, you can add your negative comments at various web host review sites.
Previously, rather than have my domain's homepage displayed, I got my control panel login page. That's how I was able to log into the control panel. Now that is gone too. I get "Directory Listing Denied" now. So I can't even GET TO the control panel anymore. I guess that's what I get for using it to enter a support request.
Thanks, mendhak, for the review links. I submitted a review and warning. In looking over the other reviews, I can see that I'm not alone, as every other reviewer has been experiencing the same lack of customer service and the unique brand of "Expericee" available at M6.net.

Re: Doamins Held Hostage! HELP!
That's what you get for hosting your site with a company whose manager is David Brent. Seriously, the likeness is uncanny. I hope you have a better expericee in future.

Thanks VERY much!
Who is the registrar of the domain; if you want then PM me the domain name. If you can prove the domain is yours and your hosting company is not the registrar then you may be able get go through the registrar and get your password reset.

Firstly, both domains you sent me a locked and registered by m6. In order to register them with another registrar you need to unlock them and then do a domain transfer from the other registrar.
You do not actually need to transfer the domain to another registrar in order to move your hosting; this can be done easily by pointing the DNS servers which resolve the domain to the new host. M6 seem to allow you to do this:
If you still wish to transfer your registrar you need to get the lock removed from the domain (I don't blame you if you still do - ignoring you is hardly customer service). Again however, M6 seem to give you this ability and once unlock you will be free to transfer the domain to another regstrar:
