[RESOLVED] Oracle 10.2g Database with Visual Studio 2008

I have installed oracle client 10.2g express, I did use it with MS visual studio '08 and made a few DataBase applications using Visual Basic .Net. It worked fine for a while but yesterday I started to receive this message whenever I try to connect the oracle database 'localhost' in Visual studio '08:

System.Data.OracleClient requires Oracle client software version 8.1.7 or greater.

I've searched about this problem on Google and found that this topic had been discussed a number of times but all attempts to solve the problem have failed.

Does anyone know what might be causing this problem ? All of a sudden, it was working just fine a day ago

Have you tried going to the Oracle site, dowanloading the client software and installing it? That's just a guess and it might be naive, but it's the first thing that comes to mind. You might also send a Personal Message to GaryMazzone to view this thread, as he knows a bit about Oracle.
