Question Any chance of a hardware forum?

Any chance of a hardware forum where we can discuss specific hardware issues relevant to VB programmers (drivers/ADSL/motherboard choice etc)

I think it's a good idea, I think they need to get rid of some of the forums that aren't being used much at all though

The one's towards the bottom are rather under-used. Didn't they finish the Dev's Code Book ages ago?

    They did indeed

Although I don't think it's a good idea trying to find interesting ways of sending the server usage up when it's already barely coping.

It gets my vote as well

Some people have told me they don't think a fat penguin really embodies the grace of Linux, which just tells me they have never seen a angry penguin charging at them in excess of 100mph. They'd be a lot more careful about what they say if they had.

    Huh. Backstabbers!

I say we ban everyone except me (keep Katie, Simon, Kedaman, and everyone else in the Post Race )

And I think that there Megatron needs a leash...he's single-handedly destroying the server with his useful posts (damn him!) If we need any new forums, just shove them on the PHPSquare server.

I'm no backstabber! he was working alone when he made that suggestion.
If we need any new forums, just shove them on the PHPSquare server.
Would it not be better to shove the less-used ones from here onto the phpsqaure serv...? Such as DCB, Comms Area, Project Request, that kind of stuff.

Those banner ads at the top probably have something to do with finance. And the About crap, they must pay a healthy sum to have that much space devoted to them. Also they have that vb world store which probably makes a bit o' cash for them.

It seems to me we can have the forum here anyway!

What are your favoured motherboards for the 1.2 GHz Athlon at present? I'm upgrading my K6/2 380 Aptiva's (don't laugh ). I'm looking for and all-in-one motherboard (video & audio) and I guess for these machines I'd go for 256 MB ram up from the current 64MB. They have IBM 40GB 7400 RPM drives with Windows 2000 (and SuSE 7.1 Linux when I get around to putting it on these).

The alternative to wise words from forum members would be a trip to Maplin's in Milton Keynes

Kzin: Good Question! Do the banner ads basically pay for the upkeep of this site?

I can't believe that they do (although the number of banner hits must be quite high as a new banner is served every time we look at a new message etc)
