[RESOLVED] [2005] Outlook Redemption problem
I don't know if there's Outook redemption user around, but here it go.
I have question/problem regarding Redemption
I have a custom form in Outlook where there’s 17 user define field in it, and I have trouble reading them.
One of those field is named “MMUID”, when I use the RDOContactItem.Fields(“MMUID”) I can get a value, but when I use RDOContactItem.UserProperties(“MMUID”) it always return me “Nothing”. I’ve look at the RDOContactItem.UserProperties.Count property and it always return 0 (Zero). But when I open the Outlook form from Outlook I can see all those custom field.
More even stranger I can only get 2 or 3 field from all for the 17 custom field, using RDOContactItem.Fields.
Please help!
Thanks
PS
I use
- VB.BET 2005
- Framework 2.0
- MS Outlook 2007
- Redemption 4.6.0.0

Re: [2005] Outlook Redemption problem
Depending upon how you are creating the custom Fields/properties, they may be stored in the Folder object instead of the properties collection. Try looking at the "ItemProperties" and also if there is no errors when creating/adding the properties/data.
Just one reason why I dont like using redemption because when there are complications you dont know if its you or redemption.

Re: [2005] Outlook Redemption problem
Those custom field were created with Outlook 2003, and there realy appear un the Form custom field, section from the Field outlook panel, not in the Folder Custom Field.
About Redemption, I agree with you, but for now, it's the only product that I know of that let me Handle Outlook object without having Outlook open.
I'm in touch with Redemption support tech, but they reply my mail only once a day ...

Re: [2005] Outlook Redemption problem
Hopefully they tell you something today as its Friday.
Without going off topic too much, why do you need to use redemption to work around not having to have outlook open? Redemption opens it too.

Re: [2005] Outlook Redemption problem
My guess would be that it runs outlook internally under its process or perhaps redemption uses extended mapi or such to interact with your mail behind the scenes.
Thanks for the info
Have you checked the ItemProperties yet?

Re: [2005] Outlook Redemption problem
My guess is that Redemption connect directly to the pst file
Oh .. FWI, redemption also handle MS Exchange mail server, very easily. It is easy to loop through all Exchange Store/Folder as it is with normal folder.
Redemption is a great cheap tools, but still I have some trouble with the "Fields" or "UserProperties"

Re: [2005] Outlook Redemption problem
Sounds like for local pst tasks it should be les resource intensive but for exchange it must use extended mapi calls directly to exchange server.
No news back yuet then I assume. Maybe monday then will respond.

Re: [2005] Outlook Redemption problem
As a thread Follow-up, Redemption team suggest me to install OutloopSpy. OutloopSpy will should let me open manhole into the Outlook engine.
