Thread View vs Downloads
OK, there are 318 thread views, the jpeg in the thread there are 120 views, but there are 3,135 downloads of the zip attached
http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?t=514742
How on earth is that possible ?
Did someone stay in the same thread and downloaded the zip thousands of times ?
Something is fishy there...

Re: Thread View vs Downloads
People can download the code more than once....
More likely, someone is linking to the download from a separate site.
It is odd. I'll try to look into it farther when I get a few minutes.

Re: Thread View vs Downloads
You can just post a shortcut to attachments in your reply (people do that often) so if someone interested they can download file without actually viewing the thread [I think].

Re: Thread View vs Downloads
I know, but that is still a huge difference.
And that whould still make it the most downloaded attachment of this year... and I'm sure that other programs/attachments are more nicer than my Code128 program... so I just don't see how could it be downloaded THAT many times...
[Edit]
? 3139 / (Date - CDate("Mar 22, 2008")) = 20.65 downloads / day

Re: Thread View vs Downloads
I wonder if someone is linking to your code from a code bank website, might be worth checking Google soon for link:http://www.vbforums.com/attachment.p...3&d=1206218849, this will show you (hopefully) if anyone is linking to your attachment, and more importantly, if they are trying to pass off your work as their own.

Re: Thread View vs Downloads
Last time I checked (before it jumpt so high), it was not more than 300 downloads (don't remember exactly).
It looks like there was a burst of downloads, then it stopped... it has been 8 days since I made this thread, and not many downloads since: (3143 - 3135) = 8 downloads
It would be interesting to see a log with the downloads, to see what day(s) this burst of downloads happend.

Re: Thread View vs Downloads
We don't have a standard log/report that shows individual file downloads. Getting the DBA to get that for us would be..... harder than getting a hack added to this forum
Generally when there is a small bubble like you've seen it is because someone links to an item in a popular blog or other site.
