    Question VB versions

My questions are embarrassingly simple but after searching for +1hr I'm no closer to finding an answer/solution. Problem: I attempted to install a new (old) program; it requires VB5. I'm instructed to download & install the latest service pack and try again later. I am running NT4, Windows2000, V5, SP-1. I don't know how to determine what ver. VB I have, & don't know where to get the diff ver my program needs. Q: Can someone help? I don't want to install a lower version just for one program if it would replace higher versions. Can different VB versions be installed without problems? Thanks for your patience and help.

The version number is shown in both the splash screen, seen when you start VB, and in the help about dialog box.

SP-1 is not the latest service pack for Visual Studio 5. I believe it's SP3.
