Suggestion for VBForum's SEO
This forum is awesome! But I wanted to mention that your search engine optimization is probably preventing the boards from getting their full traffic potential because you've got the following domains (that I know of) all set to the main forum's hosting directory:
http://www.vbforums.com 180,000 Google results
http://www.vb-forum.com 346 Google results
http://www.vb-forums.com 16,500 Google results
You should be using an htaccess 301 redirect to send all traffic to vbforums.com, since it appears to be the primary.
Poke around the three domains above, they all share separate cookies, but are linked to the same web directory and mysql db, and since paths on this site are all relative, the address bar keeps the domain you entered the website from, regardless of if you are viewing profiles, registering, or reading/posting.
So, in theory, maybe 9.16% of members on this forum genuinely believe the name of the site is VB-Forums.com, that's where their cookies reside, that's where they have it bookmarked, thus ambiguous and undesirable Google link backs are born. So it may not be much now, but these numbers grow and fluctuate, and I know I would certainly want to get that taken care of!

Re: Suggestion for VBForum's SEO
Our internal guys are aware of this; however, we've brought it to their attention again.
Thanks,
Brad!

Re: Suggestion for VBForum's SEO
It isn't deemed as important until it has been requested a certain number of times.... (Joking)
I"m not sure why they (internal Jupitermedia IT) didn't do the fix when we requested this in the past. The good news is that they jumped on it this time!
Brad!
