How To change ip address to myintranet.co.nz

    Hi,

I'm trying to create a mini intranet here at home but having some trouble. Currently I use http://192.168.1.## to acess my intranet website, but what I really want to use is http://myintranet.co.nz. I have searched the net for the last hour and a half and still having trouble.

Can someone please!!! help me through this.

If this relates to a home network of multiple machines:
You can use add DNS records if you have a home network with a server, or alternatively you can edit the local machines host files.

@Jmacp: If your train of thought is to use similar to IIS host headers etc., the computer would attempt to connect to the internet to resolve this as it wouldn't understand the "myintranet.co.nz" string or that it should map to a different internal network location. This comment would only apply if there's more than 1 computer involved here though, if not...carry on

If this is on the same machine:
What web server are you using, IIS? Apache? etc.
