    Can anyone recommend a relatively inexpensive Icon making software package?

    MicroAngelo is a good icon creator and has a free tirial version.

    I've tried many icon editors in the past (free and no so) - MicroAngelo is simpy the best.
    If you have $50-60 to spend then go for it - toolset is fantanstic.
