Too bad nobody lives within its range.
Looks good, though. Wake me when it has a 500 mile range and can recharge completely in 5 minutes.

Actually they claim the vehicle can charge to 80% in 3 minutes.
The last 20% take an additional 10 minutes.

Hmph. When they make an all electric family 5 door family saloon capable of towing a 4 berth caravan for 250+ miles between recharges through mountain country and has an emergency reserve psu of 60 miles, for under £10k, I'll buy one. Until then, I'm happy to increase my carbon footprint and let global warming cut my gas/electricity bills, as I live in the Backbone of England, halfway up a mountain.

The correct behaviour for any vehicle upon detection of a caravan is to detonate its fuel tank in a violent fireball that scorches the very bedrock.

Where does it say that? The only thing I could find was this:
Standard single phase home type power source can be used to charge overnight and is available just about anywhere by using the onboard charger. For a fast charge a 3 phase power supply is required and with the interest in electric powered vehicles increasing significantly, more high power charging stations will be installed.
No mention how long this "fast charge" takes, but if single-phase power takes overnight 3-phase power would still take at least a couple of hours.

A good looking car, nonetheless. One thing I constantly wonder about regarding electric cars is: How do they recharge? Do you leave them out in the sun? Do you plug an extension cord into the exhaust? Do you fill it with batteries?

The batteries are already in the car, Bill. You just need to plug the car into an outlet to charge them.
Okay, VB's link answered one of my questions, but what about range? Nobody seems to be mentioning that at all...
And I question the wisdom of allowing the average idiot access to three-phase industrial-strength juice. Could this mean a return to the old-fashioned fuel station attendant?

Re: 700 bph electric supercar
0 to 60 mph in 4 seconds ain't bad for an electric car. The specifications say it has a programmable external engine sound generator. Does that mean it can sound like it has an internal combustion engine just to fool or impress people?
I was looking for its range on one charge but couldn't find it. How many miles or kilometers can it go on one charge. I suppose of course it depends on how you drive it. At a constant 60 Mph how far would it go?
700 + brake horse power. Should be titled 700 bhp electric supercar. bph would be brake power horse. Brake power horses are a completely different animal.

Re: 700 bph electric supercar
I suspect the sound generator is there primarily as a safety feature. I guess it is to stop the car creeping up on you while you're trying to cross the road. As a seasoned drunkard, I often rely only on my acute hearing to navigate my way home from the boozer.
I wonder if it can be configured to sound like a Citroen 2CV.

they installed one of those in a minivan on "pimp my ride" It had a selector and a speaker box under the vehicle. Ironically used loads of electricity. It says on a couple of sites the range is about 250 miles.

Re: 700 bph electric supercar
I've always liked the idea of a really powerful but utterly silent car.. My favourite car is the Bugatti Veyron, but I don't like the pretentious level of noise that comes from sports cars in suburban or city areas.. Silent would be cool.. Or just quiet.. it would feel even more powerful to me.

Sweet! I'm going grab an MP3 of a twin Cesna turbo prop.... Or I might go for a DC-1 ... Hmm.... the thumping sounds of an aproaching Huey has a certain attraction to it as well.....

Hmmm... If you fit a towbar (and tow a petrol driven generator), you could pull into any ordinary garage....

the sound list for the aftermarket sound generator was impressive. Including a cessna.

Don't know about your side of the pond, but three phase isn't all that big a deal over here. Admittedly, I don't know of any residential installations, but I've worked with plenty at fish hatcheries. Comparing them to people smoking as they pump gas, I would have to say that the average idiot will be no more likely to do themselves in with a properly designed 480v 3-phase plug than they currently are. Better yet, they won't do any collateral damage in the process (other than the heart attacks triggered when somebody shorts a 480 line, which can be dramatic).
