Has anyone seen vacancy, that turned out to be really scary! Have a watch of that if you get the chance!

I loved the concept for vacancy but the film itself turned about to be about as scary as Rod, Jane and Freddy.

No, but I have seen Exorcist 2. That was just hilarious. I'd recommend that film to anybody if they want to see how to make a magnificently bad sequel.

Perhaps i scare easy. I still thought it was a good film...Its unlike most horror films out today that just use shock techniques to make you jump. At least it built tension and had a good plot! Ending wasn't the best.

Should probably start a new tread but, in my opinion, the best horror film is 'The Devils Rejects'....One of the best endings to a film you will see!

I guess the power of crap compells the directors to make sequels after sequels.

Its pretty amazing isnt it! They made one good film and then continued to make 4 other bad ones. One film sequence that does break the mode and just keeps knocking out good film after good film....Nighmare on Elm Street. I have all 7!!!!

Take for example Saw. There is a scene where the guy has to run through barbed wire (for god knows what reason). The amount of barbed wire there must've been very hard to obtain in real life. I mean can you imagine a parcel from UPS - "Handle with care, several kilometres of barbed wire encased"??

And last but not least, the main psycho in the film had brain cancer, and thought he should teach everyone a lesson... Maybe that cancer really got inside his head...

This i can't argue with...Saw was good until they made, 2,3,4 and i think 5. Rather horrific at times though and i spose thats how they grab their audiance!

Kregg, you must have seen at least Nightmare on Elm Street 1. You know, Freddie Kurger and all that?!

Saw only goes up to 4 and I shudder with horror at the thought they might make a fifth. the first one's excellent but the rest (particularly 3) just go for the sick angle with no real intelligence.

Thinking back to Vacancy, the first half's really quite good (if a little corny), especially the creepy guy at the checkin whose clearly based on Norman Bates. It's the second half when the local yokels start attacking them that was rubbish. It was like watching the end of a Benny Hill episode.

Oh, and you're right: Freddie Rules, baby, yeah!

Are you joking? The first one had anything but intelligence. The guy went around killing people because he had some sort of cancer in his brain at one point. And lets face it, the detectives aren't exactly the brightest lot.

"Oh gee! The killer is getting away in an alleyway, and the alleyway has a piece of string at the bottom with lots of guns attached at the top. Let's see what would happen when I run into them?"

And let's not forget that stupid, idiotic doll. Yes, that little doll that looks like it has more makeup than Victoria Beckham and (senselessly) spiraly red cheeks. And I'm talking about this thing:

Honestly, it would've been scarier if the killer sneezed at the photographer than actually threw that doll at him.
