Homeless Man Poetry
I thought long and hard about how to cheer VisualAd up during this difficult time. The best way, in my opinion, was to write poems about homeless people. If you have a poem about homeless people, please add it to this thread. Thank you. I wrote this poem earlier today.
O Homeless Man, please do not scream,
You're making my family vomit coffee and cream.
If you want a beer, I'll buy you a stout,
All I ask is "Please do not shout."
From my table you've stolen a whole loaf of bread
Had you but taken my annoying children instead
O Homeless Man, now you want potatoes and mash,
All I can give you is my hard earned cash
Look over here, I'm reaching into my pocket
Now I'll put my cigarette out in your eye socket

Oh homeless man in my line of sight. I see you lurking there on the peripheral of my vision.
But when I try to look at you, you scurry away.
Are you shy, homeless man?
Why only when I ignore you, do you return to the center of my eye?
Oh, homeless man, it's alright, you are forgiven.

Oh homeless man, stop asking me for money.
Here's to us!
Who's like us?
Darned few, and they're all dead!

H is for your Hunger, always work for food,
O is for your Odor, it really is quite rude.
M is for Machines, that took your livelyhood,
E is for Evict, if you only understood.
L is for the Lead, fom paint you like to huff,
E is for The End, you love that crazy stuff.
S is for the Show, you put on for the crowd,
S is for the Sneers, how come they're so proud?

Calloused hands, spreading grime over a tattered jacket
Phlegm snakes its way through a hirsute wilderness
Meandering towards the pool in which you fester.
Your audible soliloquies, the humbling truths you show us
Like maggots in a wound that refuses to heal
Meandering towards the pool in which you fester.
Someday soon you shall leave our company
A rotting corpse in the forgotten stories of a city
Meandering towards the pool in which we all fester

Pilots are the nomads of aviation.
They fly from country to country, tirelessly.
They are homeless and smell like expired coffee because that is what they serve on airplanes and that is why they keep coming onto the announcement system and telling us what is outside the damn window please stop talking.

Re: Homeless Man Poetry
Buttocks clenched, I approach the scrawny sack of clothes.
He reeks of stale smoke and last night's alcohol.
His vacant, drug-misted eyes are a mirror to my soul.
I do not like what I see. And neither does he.
