Is there a way to change the units that the IDE measures the grid in? The part that is in circled?

I don't believe so. Can't you just convert yours to twips?

"...change the units..." ------------- Change the units to what other unit? I believe Gavio is advising that you make an arithmetical conversion to meet your program's requirements.
