windows media player doesn't stream ASX extensions

hi every1
am tryin to make an app to stream radio stations from diffrent places, most of the extensions are asx, here's what happens
I open them directly using mp.url - doesn't work (just says ready and stops)
I make sure the link is fine by testing it on an HTML page (works)
I try opening the HTML page in my app using internet control (doesn't work)
what's the problem?
