Change the default gateway on the XP PC so that it can't access the Internet.

Check your router settings, most will still allow your XP PC to get an IP address through DHCP but you can block WAN routing to and from.

DMZ simply means that it forwards every port for a particular computer. It has nothing to do with preventing other computers accessing.

Thank you dbasnett - that's exactly what I was looking for - I must have skimmed over it when looking for DMZ

Re: [RESOLVED] Only allow 1 copmuter to access internet through router
yes they are. I figured it out myself reading a reference. It doesn't help that it is used to mean two different things. It is also used as a reference to a computer that gives other computers access to the internet in a network.

A demarcation zone (DMZ) is a name for a secure 'bubble' within a local area network which has specific firewall rules applied to it to severely restrict traffic which crosses the boundaries of the DMZ.
I don't like citing Wikipedia but their entry on this is a pretty good summary.
