vbforums browser crashes
starting today any vbforums page is intermitently crashing my firefox,
"Firefox has encountered an error and needs to close"
no other website is causing this, but it has happened about 20 times today, both on forum and thread pages
i do my best to test code works before i post it, but sometimes am unable to do so for some reason, and usually say so if this is the case.
Note code snippets posted are just that and do not include error handling that is required in real world applications, but avoid On Error Resume Next
dim all variables as required as often i have done so elsewhere in my code but only posted the relevant part
come back and mark your original post as resolved if your problem is fixed

Re: vbforums browser crashes
Doubtful. More likely it's a plug-in/extension of Firefox.

Re: vbforums browser crashes
Next time try to take a screnshot or note the ad and also try to save the page source code as a txt file.

Re: vbforums browser crashes
The crashes used to happen to me on Firefox 2. Not sure what caused it though. Now I'm using FF3 and so far I haven't encountered a crash.

2.0.0.13

Re: vbforums browser crashes
No crashes here using Firefox 3. I'm in Australia too, by the way, and I don't think the ad system splits Australia into subregions, so we should be seeing the same ads.

Re: vbforums browser crashes
Does it also happen if you are not logged on, but are browsing anonimously?
Have you tried both VBForums & vb-forums?
If you have a second UserName, does he also crash?

Does the problem only occur when you use fire-fox to browse vbforums or using other browsers as well?

Re: vbforums browser crashes
i had some crashes lately. All the plugins have been updating due to the new version release and for some reason every single one of them has been crashing firefox when they update. But after rebooting they all work ok. Using 2.0.0.13
Not only that, but some of the avatars (including my own) quit animating and just now started animating again. They still worked ok in ff3 and ie7. This did not affect all animated gifs, just some of them.

as far as i know, i really try to avoid using IE. no other websites have crashed my firefox (either 2 or 3) since i started this thread
i have been letting all the error reports get submitted to firefox, maybe they can sort it

Re: vbforums browser crashes
I just found this thread:
http://support.mozilla.com/tiki-view...arentId=100467
You might want to try disabling javascript.
[EDIT]
After googleing around a bit, I discovered someone who has a page that he knows crashes FF, and provides details about how it crashes FF.
If you go here: http://agent55.blogspot.com/2007/01/...h-for-you.html
It has a link to the crashing site.
