    HP, lost files, ops...restore started

My nephew saw a message...some problem, push F10 to recover...?
When I received the HP Pavilion a6120n..XP...SATA drive...it would not boot.
I removed the drive and plugged it in to my system as a slave.
Saw his and my sisters folders, but they were empty.

    DOS > dir *.*/s
    Looked for a thousand photos...nothing.
    Next step...un-delete program.
    Any other ideas ?

of he stopped the restore halfway through the only way to fix it is to finish the restore so your pretty much done you can try to recovery the pictures with a data recovery program but it might not go so well ....

What puzzles me, their folders were still there but empty.
    I ran a undelete program...nothing.
You think if I start the recovery again the photos might show up?
Well I have nothing now...I'll think again tomorrow

download and run a program called ntfs undelete. I've used it before and it works pretty well.
