    Angry 3DS Max 9 crashes

I just got Autodesk 3DS Max 9.0 SP2 installed, and I have this problem that every time I open the material editor, it works, the second time I open it, it crashes the entire program. I haven't found any info about this on google, so does anyone have any experience with this?

    My computer specs are:

    Core 2 Quad Q6600 @2.80GHz
    1TB hard drive space (1x 500GB SATA, 2x 250GB PATA)
    2GB Crucial Ballistix Tracer RAM
    eVGA eGeForce 8600 GTS Superclocked

If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it. Installing SP2 seemed to help, I was able to open the material editor 3 times for a few reboots of the program, now it's back to 2... this makes editing projects impossible...

    Thanks!

    I found this pretty easily:
You're actually done unwrapping and adjusting a face! Amazing work - Capt. Dubious is proud of you. Get a drink, sit back and relax for a bit.
Or wait - there's still one more important step to take.
Rightclick the topmost modifier in the modifier-list (in this case, it should be UVW unwrap), and select 'collapse all' (or 'collapse to') from the menu. This will convert the list of modifications to a single state object again, safe for you to play around with once more.
If you fail to do this after every bit you've unwrapped, you're bound to crash studio max. That's a no-no.
So keep this in mind :]

ummm... I don't really know what this article is talking about, but I don't think I'm unwrapping anything. And I don't see a "modifier list" anywhere in the material editor...

Do I need a lesson in 3ds Max terminology and layout, or do I need a different solution?

I've never used that version of 3dsmax, but they were saying (i am guessing) that you need to finalize anything you are doing in some manner or the program crashes. sounds like a design flaw to me.

hmmm... I'll try to see if there;s anything I can do to "finalize" what I do in the editor...

    thanks
