truthfully everyone i've ever known who has used an evga product (including myself) has later wished he'd thrown his money away on something else, such as horse gambling.

Re: My new computer setup.
My first computer I'll build myself. I hope I don't screw up.
I got the giant heatsink (special order) in the mobo as well as the CPU and RAM.
Now I gotta screw in the mobo, connect all these damn wires and fans to the power supply and put in the video card.
Crossing my fingers that nothing blows up.

Re: My new computer setup.
are you sure your case has clearance for that heatsink? some people have problems with oversized ones.

Yea I do. A friend of mine bought and put together this exact same setup successfully.
The heat sink was a big pain to put in because the instructions that came with it were horrible, but I had my friend walk me through it over the phone.
After I finished snapping everything together, the thing wouldn't start and I thought I was screwed. But I eventually found out that one of those two RAM sticks were bad. I took one of them out, and I was able to get in.
So things seem to be going well now, except for some reason my USB harddrive and camera isn't being detected.
Other than that, the Crysis game that came with the video card is running pretty well, at 1280 x 1024 with all graphics on "High".
All in all, for the first time putting a computer together by myself, it seems fairly successful so far.

Are you running Vista or XP? 32 or 64 bit?
