Our Premier (leader) has his priorities a bit mixed

So the premier of our province (Alberta) raised the issue in the provincial parliament about "Hockey Night in Canada" (a TV show that covers ice hockey) changing it's theme tune....

"This is ridiculous," Stelmach said as the Alberta legislature's spring session wrapped up Thursday.

"Aside from O Canada, the Maple Leaf Forever, really the Hockey Night in Canada theme -- I mean we hear it everywhere, even during the summer."

"You get to a barbecue in rural Alberta and somebody strikes it up after a good volume of O Canada, and it's going to disappear?"

The premier became emotional about the topic and took a deep breath before saying the CBC has caused him a few heartaches and sleepless nights.

This is not a joke, honest to god, this is the truth.... man, talk about the sterortype of Canadians being hockey mad......

Well, it's official. The high price of oil has pumped so much wealth into Alberta and made things so easy that the government actually has absolutely nothing to do.

Actually the whole oil thing makes me laugh. To hear the politicians talk, you would believe that it was their fiscal guidance which has made Alberta so rich.... conveniently ignoring the billions of litres of black gold rushing down the pipelines...
