    Strongest/Safest Encryption Method[Advice Needed]

    Hi Guys,
    i was wondering, of all the encryption method available(SHA 256, MD5, CRYPT, Blowfish, Base64, e.t.c), which is the safest and strongest?

    This is a subject I know nothing about, and have never dealt with, so it interested me. A quick search on Google returned only one article of interest, but it looks like it might be fairly on target for what you want, as it mentions and discusses several techniques. The first one looks like the strongest, but has the obvious drawback of speed. The author appears to recommend Blowfish ultimately. Here's the link:
