    Resolved [RESOLVED] VB & Outlook

I wrote a small program in VB with an Access database. It is supposed to update the database and then open an email in Outlook and fill in the addresses & details. It works fine on machines with the Outlook 2003 Professional edition, but I get an automation error when using on machines with Outlook 2003 Basic.

Does anyone know a way around this or is this just something that Outlook Basic does not allow?

    Thank you!

They are the same product, but they come with different applications. Office Basic only has Word, Excel and Outlook. Professional comes with all these, plus PowerPoint, Publisher and Access. But otherwise, the versions of Word, Excel and Outlook are exactly the same thing.

The workaround could be an early binding with Access before creating and Exe...

The program updates the access database just fine. The only issue it is having is the Outlook portion.

    Re: VB & Outlook

Uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook fixed the problem.
