[RESOLVED] Vista Basic (low display only)
My laptop meets all the specs required, i think. According to MS i need a 32MB directx9 compatable video card. I have a 64MB directx9 SIS chipset.
Ive looked for drivers but cant find any newer than the ones installed, i know that it is capable of having 1024x768 because i had it on xp. When i boot, i have to press F8 and enable low display (640x480) or else the screen just goes blank. I cant change it to any higher either.
WHY WONT IT WORK ????
Any and all help appreciated

Re: Vista Basic (low display only)
Two questions
1) Laptop Model
2) What is the name of you display card for example nvdia, ATI etc...

Re: Vista Basic (low display only)
I would say its PB's drivers, i had to change from a PB laptop as the drivers for EVERYTHING went faulty, i dont now what there doing with there drivers when they get them of the hardware manufaturers but they are a nightmare! Try using generic video drivers.

Re: Vista Basic (low display only)
I've sorted it, thanks for your help anyway.
I plugged in my desktop monitor so i could see what i was doing, then changed the resolution for my laptop screen.
Works perfect
thanks chris1990

My first time ever using vista, i was gonna give up and stick with xp. didn't think the fix would be so simple.

Re: [RESOLVED] Vista Basic (low display only)
only simple if you had a 2nd monitor. Otherwise a registry-editing nightmare.
