[2005] Binary files
Hi
I would like to learn how to use binary files.
I have programmed with vb6 for a couple of years and now I use vb.net,
But for some reason I have never learned anything about binary files.
I would like to store files in a single file like WinZip without compression.
Any one knows a simple tutorial to star with?
I have searched on Internet but haven’t found any…
Thanks!

Re: [2005] Binary files
There's actually a file format specifically for that. It's called TAR. You should read about that to see how it's structured for start. When you are ready to write a file you can either use a FileStream to write bytes to a file, or else use a BinaryWriter to write binary objects. I'd go with the BinaryWriter.
