    That's nice. I'm voting democratic.

I like McCain personally (he's moderate), but he's stubborn as a mule, and I don't want this country in Iraq for another 4 to 100 years.

Perhaps when he gets some talent that will change?

The american election is starting to sicken me, and I'm probably not experiencing the worst of it, being on the other side of the globe.

How come there is so much...I cant find the word for it...the ones voting for obama ridicules hillary and vice versa, and there's so much commercial stuff involved in these elections its almost silly. Shouldnt people vote for the person they share views with, and not the one that successfully bashes the opponent the most / has the nicest TV commercials?

Well...yeah, I dont experience that there's as much "commerciality" (is that even a word? ), and "opponent-bashing", there's no TV commercials for any of the election participants, so its not about "who has the most money".

But of course, its all a matter of personal preference I suppose

Re: Cartoons you will probably not see in the main stream media...

If you took sweden and divided it up into 50-60 different sections (how many US territories actually have primaries?), then had all of the sections vote weeks, or even months apart, and each section had a handful of media venues that are more or less specific to just them, how well would that work? We have a system that is riddled with flaws, but there are strong interests intent on keeping it that way. NH and Iowa would happily move their primaries into the year prior to the election if need be, just to keep the first in the nation status. If there was a concerted effort to get all primaries to occur on the same day, or even the same week, we could get away from alot of this stuff, but the will isn't there. Of course, voting all on the same day would have a serious impact, as well, as neither NH nor Iowa would be likely to see a candidate.

Idaho moved their primary up with the intention of getting more recognition. Obama stopped here for one thirty minute speach, and no other candidate for either party even touched the ground. Still, that was thirty minutes more than this state normally gets.

By the way, in the cartoon that shows Obama meeting with dictators, I did think it was really funny of the cartoonist to add Cheney to the end of the line. That's a nice little dig at the current administration.

Haven't heard her elevated higher than minor demon by anyone on the right. Speaker of the House is more of a gadfly to opponents.

But she does control which bills come to the floor for a vote and those that don't.

I typically agree with more republican views than democratic views. But since I turned 18 (in 2000) I have never found a candidate that I supported. Some of this is a lack of education by myself. It is also hard for me to think my vote matters when my state has such little difference in the over all outcome. I was hoping McCain, having been a POW, would work hard to bring troops home, but his comments seem to reflect the oposit. I guess I can not vote again, that way I can complain about any President put in office without feeling guilty. Plus I'll never be called for jury duty!

I have to agree with you. It's become very difficult to find a candidate you even moderately agree with or like. It also seems that people's reasoning behind choosing a candidate has also changed - How many people truly look at issues anymore?? I've ask a couple of people why they like "X" and they all had little or no reasoning behind their pick. Maybe they just like how a candidate presents themselves on tv???

McCain won't be the candidate to bring the troops home, but is there a candidate that will actually do that? I don't think so. Hillary won't do it and neither will Obama. It just won't happen. The best case scenario is bringing *some* of them home.

The US still has troops in Germany and Japan (WWII), Korea (Korean War), Saudi Arabia and other Mid eastern countries (Operation Desert Shield/Storm). So what makes you think HillBilly or Obama will bring the troops home? The promises politicians make when campaigning aren't usually kept. I guarantee you that if HillBilly or Obama are elected President they will suddenly back away from their statements to bring all of the troops home instead they will state that National security concerns prevent them from having all of the troops return home at this time.

I don't think that works. In fact, I believe if you don't vote you get put on a list for those class action toxic chemical suits that take decades to resolve. You could be old and grey before you can say that you've done anything except being a career jurist.
