Well, you maybe right about that. Hilly and Billy are both in it for the money, you should research who is paying the mortgage for their palatial estate in Chappaqua, NY. It seems that Billy gets lifetime Secret Service Protection and Hilly and Billy have a small house on their estate where the ON DUTY Secret Service Agents, who mind you are protecting Hilly and Billy, stay when they are on the property. Don't you know it the amount that Hilly and Billy charges the government is the same amount of their mortgage payment a month. Hmmm sear coincidence I am quite sure ;-). The Clinton 's are only out for themselves they could care less if you or I have health care, etc. It is all about having POWER.

The citizens of Chappaqua NY have even erected (pun intended) a sign in honor of Billy C. (Attention the following graphic is a Photo shop Job, you have been warned, this warning is brought to by Mark Gambo for those members who don't understand the meaning of a joke)

Hate to break it to you, but virtually all politicians beyond a few at the state and local level are in it for that reason. Why else would people put themselves through an election for federal office? There have been books written on the subject.

The bottom line is that a willingness to be elected to federal office should disqualify a person from being a candidate for such office....or we can just accept that some people want power, and give it to them in exchange for some modicum of leadership. Take your pick, not that you have a choice.

There was a kernel of truth underlying the gossip here, but that kernel has been so distorted that it hardly qualifies as the truth any more. As Lloyd Grove reported in the Washington Post:

It is a standard arrangement that the Secret Service provide payment to homeowners for space used by the agency in such situations. The Clintons did not take it upon themselves to "charge the Secret Service rent."

The amount provided is based on a government formula, not set by the homeowner, and in the Clintons' case this amount is $1,100. (Note that this figure was not chosen by the Clintons, and it is well short of their monthly mortgage payment.)

Most important, although regulations call for the payment of this amount, the Clintons have not in fact accepted <U>any</U> money from the Secret Service.

I can't tell you how I know this without giving up my source but HillBilly are charging the US taxpayer for rent on that bungalow that the Secret Service Agents stay in. This is the same guy who took a tax deduction on under garments donated to the Salvation Army. Just because Snopes says it isn't true doesn't mean it is always true.

One other thing about the Clinton's when he was elected President he was making about $40 or $50K a year as Governor of Arkansas, so they didn't have a lot of money Like George Bush, his father, Jimmy Carter, or Ronald Reagan. All of these men accumulated great wealth before they became president. Bill on the other hand had to learn how to live very frugally if he was elected State Attorney General when he was he would have been homeless. If you are ever in NYC let me know I will prove to you what I am saying is true and believe me you will be more than satisfied with what you find out.

So it sounds like Clinton is the first president in a long time who actually understands anything about the general populous of the country. GW certainly hasn't got a clue.

I find it interesting that you are making value judgements of a person based on how much money they have. Yeah Bush was a real stand up guy before he cleaned his act up. He was an alcoholic and drug addict but by your standards a much better person than the rest of us pee-ons who were born without a trust fund.
