How do you keep Files on your desktop sync'd with your laptop?

I recently started using Microsoft Groove to synchronize the files between my laptop and my desktop, it works pretty well so far. I am wondering what do you use to sync the files between two computers?
    Regards,

    Depends.
I believe that having a central storage system is best, that way you don't have 23492348039 copies of the file floating around.

For linux/mac I would use sshfs, on windows there isn't something similar (stable) due to the way windows works. However, there are programs that come close like ftpdrive or webdrive (google for them). But, they are kinda buggy especially if you disconnect the network connection (ie putting your laptop to sleep).

My problem is that when I am on the road I don't always have a connection to our server. Groove seems to be able to merge the changes made to an Office document by multiple people into one document.

Actually isn't that native to word anyways?
I can't remember it was called, but I went over it with a co worker one time.

If you are really inclined to use some sort of syncing system. I heard good things about rsync (I'm assuming you have different platforms in your environment).

What are you ultimating looking to do?
SVN could work too if you have multiple people working on a document.
(Lets not even mention CVS )

Mostly I am the only one working on my Office documents. I am using the same platform (Windows) on both machines. I just want to keep my VB6 project files sync'd ans well as my PIM contacts on each machine.

are you running the trial version ?

This seems very pricey for a product that is only keeping indexes then copying the data and can be created using VB6

does it do somthing more that the sync? just wondering?

i would use a USB hdd or a usb pen Drive thus removing the requirement for the sync

I found out that Microsoft Live has an application called Folder Share and it will back up all files and the best thing about it is it is FREE. Check it out it work pretty good for a beta app.

You sure that backs it up? When I used it I was only able to access files over the internet via their site.

It will sync the files on one computer to another. If you have another computer try it and you will see what I mean.
