Re: VB6 on pen-drive
If you run your OS off of that drive then yes - all dlls must be registered with the system.

We understand that.
However, if you want any program to be installed on some removable media so it works everywhere you will have to install Operating System on that same removable media - something that you really don't want to do.
Applications like Visual Basic contain many components and vast majority of them need to be registered in System Registry.
Unless your system is installed on the pen-drive your application will get registered elsewhere.
Setting destination folder somewhere on your pen-drive doesn't mean application is actually installed there - setup will copy all files there only but system registry will still exist elsewhere.

Re: VB6 on pen-drive
OK.
Then..the solution of my problem is to install WinXP on pen-drive and after install VB6 on pen-drive.
It's true ?

Re: VB6 on pen-drive
Why on earth would you want to install vb6 on the pen drive? A pen drive is really only useful for transporting files. A computer has a hard disk for an Operating system.

I didn't want to, but I've been waiting for someone to ask this question.

Re: VB6 on pen-drive
there are a couple of utilities for removable drives that basically give the pen-drive it's own start menu. That makes anything installed on it still work if you transport it to a different computer. They only work with xp and above thanks to the auto-start function. A lot of pen drives actually come with the software.
If you don't want to go through all that though, you could simply install visual studio on both computers, one at a time, with the pen drive listed as the target install drive. It would overwrite itself on the 2nd install but that doesn't matter.
