Resolved [RESOLVED] Customize Visual Studio and Outlook

I have a question about Visual Studio 2005 and Outlook in Office 2007. I don't know where else to post them -

    1. VS - How do I get the icon on my toolbar that shows my my error list?

    2. Outlook - How do I get rid of the annoying dialog that displays when a message arrives and have the nice little viewer on the bottom right that displays the message in a window then disappears after n seconds?

    Thanks.

    1. Write some bad code?

    2. Which dialog are you talking about? You should only be getting one notification when you receive an email, two is just weird.

    2. Go to Tools -> Email Options... -> Advanced Email Options
The middle section on the form gives you the options for when new mail arrives.

True, but as I'm coding, if I want to see errors as I make them and not wait until I run, if the window is not there I won't see it until I run. At my old job (not that I miss it at all), I had the Error List icon on my toolbar and I can't seem to add it here. Thanks.

Yea, but I can't quite get the middle section to behave. When new items arrive in my inbox, I want the little envelope that fades away after n-seconds, not a dialog that hangs around until I click a button. If you don't know what I'm talking about, last week when I was working elsewhere I wouldn't have known what I was talking about either.

Thanks for moving this - I couldn't find where to post it.

It's not a dialog.... here's my settings when I got to that page:
When new items arrive in my Inbox:[*] Play Sound (checked)[*] Briefly change the mouse cursor (checked)[*] Show an envelope icon in the notification area (checked)[*] Display a New Mail Desktop Alert (default Inbox only) (checked)

What you may need to do is click the "Desktop Alert Settings" button and adjust the settings.

As for your first item.... from the View menu, select "Error List" .... it's right there. Or, press Ctrl+E to bring it up.

Trust me, what I was referring to was a dialog. It would sit in the middle of my monitor until I clicked Okay or whatever the buttons were.

Anyway, I am not seeing it anymore so you helped me eliminate it though I'm not sure exactly what the solution was. I am not going to experiment to get it back to see which setting controls it, I am just so glad it is gone. And I have the "envelope" notification that fades.

Thanks also for the key combination to see my error list in VS.
