    Question

I just installed PWS on my computer. When i tried to open a .asp page on my local network it did not want to work. It just says unable to display page.
I did place it in my inetpub/wwroot/directory and when typing the address i did type http://localhost/page.asp
localhost i switched for the name of my computer

Please someone tell me what am i doing wrong.

    Hi

Let my explain what I do. Create a directory.

Share it with PWS (Advance,Add,Pick your new directory and give a share name). Make sure Enable default document is enabled. <-- if you enter the sharename in your URL, your browser will display that page.

Now enter in your browser http://localhost/Sharename/Page1.asp.

Should work fine now. ShareName is the webname Alias (virtual drive). NOT the physical directory name.

    Hope it works!

Also, make sure that PWS is started.

    Get these: Mozilla Opera OpenBSD
I have books for sale: "MCSD in a Nutshell" and "VB Distributed Exam Cram" - PM me for details. Will also trade for a decent ATX Pentium 2 MB/CPU/RAM combo.

I dont know if it was PWS or not (i cannot think of anything else) but it caused me a lot of trouble
i had to reformat my c drive because an illegal operation kept coming up and preventing me from loading my computer completely
PWS was the last thing i installed so my suspicion goes there
