House Republicans have and likely will continue to paint the Democrats as cowards for not giving Bush wide powers to spy without court oversight.

"We are unilaterally disarming," said Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-Michigan) on the House floor.

"The House raised the white flag of surrender to those that would do us harm," Rep. Ted Poe (R-Texas) said.

What exactly is cowardly about standing up to your government.
