    Question vb help

    Hi all,

I'm a new user of Visual basics and very interested in starting programming. I have the visual basic 6.0 professional version and want to start like a hobbyist. Ive encountered a problem when i go into help menu or like to run a program it tells me to install MSDN Library.
Where do i get the download free and does it have to be compatible?
Please help me as im eager to start.

    cheers
    george

    Welcome to VBForums

You can't download it (or even buy it new) I'm afraid.. there is an online version at the moment, but that does not link to VB (so you need to search it manually), and it could be removed at any time. For more information, see the article Where can I find the help files for VB 6? from our Classic VB FAQs (in the FAQ forum, which is shown near the top of our home page)

Unless you can get hold of an appropriate version (as explained in the article) easily second-hand, I would recommend starting with the latest version of VB instead, as you can download it (and the MSDN library for it) for free from Microsoft's web site.

    Hi Bernborough,

I had exactly the same problem up until recently, and I received some advice from si_the_geek.

I managed to get a copy from eBay but take note:

My advice would be to do what aikidokid.

See if you can find a copy for sale on eBay.
