    How to do grouping in Excel?

    may i know is it possible to do the grouping as following in excel? Pivopt is one kind of that, but pivoting is grouping and counting into number...
    what i wnat is just as below:

    yes it is possible, but remember to sort the columns first and then select them. Click on the menu Data=>Group and Outline=>Group and select the relevant options...

    If you want to achieve this by code then let me know. I'll come up with a quick code...

    I wish to do it manually. I use the Group and Outline function but...
    I only noticed the collapse button (-) and an expand (+) button.
    Nothing else. And not in the format i want.
    Is there i missed out something?

    Hi

    by any chance are you refering to the Menu Data=>SUBTOTALS?

    If yes then after sorting, highlight your data and click the above mentioned menu and just follow directions...
